In the last days of Xiaowa Village, I tied my GoPro onto a goat, where it records the birth and death of another goat during their everyday life. Due to land collapsing in local area which was resulted from the heavy mining in the past decades, the village has been torn down, and the goats are the very last dewllers there. This video explores the condition of the animal lying among life, meat and machine, as well as the disjuction between personal experience and social change in contemporary China.

A friend from the farm took this video of someone butchering a pig. I later replayed this footage on the butcher’s own monitor for watching his livestock.
